Best Ball | Duluth - Indoor Simulator

Impact Vision

Bay fee: $20-$45/hr

Best Ball provides an amazingly budget friendly option for the Atlanta Indoor Golf scene. Most budget golf sims are in a garage somewhere with zero amenities, but Best Ball gives you the best of both worlds. Is this the best value in indoor golf sim around Atlanta?

When you walk in the door the first thing you notice are the open bays that greet you on the left, the semi-private bays in the middle, and then some doors on the right that lead to private bays.

They don't have a full bar, but I didn't really expect that considering the prices. But come to find out they have plenty of beer, seltzer, and soju options. They even do a 5 beer bucket for $18. Hell yeah. Similar story with the food! I was impressed with the options... Onion rings, mozz sticks, and beef dumplings were some of the starters, while the Mains included ramen, chicken tenders, wings, and pizza. I got the spicy ramen and it was very good.

Hospitality was adequate. We visited middle of the day on a weekday and there was one person behind the desk, which was fine. He helped get everything set up and if we needed anything we just walked up to the desk. A nice touch would have been for the guy to walk over to our bay to check on us from time to time. I imagine we would have ordered a couple starters and drinks if he had. But I wasn't necessarily expecting that and the desk was like 15 paces from our bay, so it wasn't inconvenient to order something.

They have 12 bays in total which is more than most, and they have 3 options depending on what experience you're wanting.

FYI - more my left handed friends, only 1 open bay and the "party" room can accommodate.

The 5 open bays are literally open. No walls between the bays, but they are also the cheapest option at $20/hr. The screens are relatively small for a simulator, but get the job done. The 2 semi-private bays provide walls between the two bays for a little more privacy and less concern about a wayward ball ending up on your hitting mat. The screens are also bigger as well. Lastly, there are 5 private bays. These are behind closed doors for a fully private experience for you and your party. There's also a "party room" with a larger screen with room for both right and left handed golfers.

Impact Vision is a Korean simulator and it was pretty good overall. There was a slight learning curve on how to navigate the system at first, but once I figured it out it wasn't too difficult. There were times the system had trouble finding the ball before we hit so we had to re-hit, but that happened only a few times over the course of 18 holes. The course selection seemed to be mainly Asian options, but I wasn't sure if they were real courses or created. So if you really care about playing name brand courses, you won't find that here.

The turf quality was fine for the price point. Definitely some wear and tear, but not enough to throw off the impact and it was easy to move the ball around to a less worn area if needed. That said, I would estimate that our particular hitting strip was close to being changed out. There was also rough and "sand" turf to hit off of depending on the lie. Nice extra!

While the open bays are first come, first serve, the semi-private and private bays can be reserved ahead of time. Just call.

A few random notes...

  • Member cards can be purchased, which is kind of a pre-paid card where you put a minimum of $300 upfront and get 15% off all of the bay options

  • There are lessons available

  • Very nice Mizuno clubs are available for rent

  • They are starting a league soon

Open bays: $20/hr

Semi-private: $30/hr

Private: $35/hr

Party room: $45/hr

These are per hour, NOT per person, and there is no guest fee nor increase over the weekend. So you and a few friends could play on one of the open bays for $5/hr on a Saturday night! Even if you booked a private bay you'd be paying $8.75/hr with a 4-some. Insane! Considering the overall experience and amenities, I think I can comfortably say this is the best value in indoor golf around Atlanta.

I definitely recommend Best Ball.
