Is this the best bang for your buck private course in Atlanta??
Eagle’s Landing is a Tier 2 private club in the Metro Atlanta area, best known for its 27 holes designed by Tom Fazio and as the former host of the LPGA Chick-Fil-A Classic.

The clubhouse grabs your attention right away when you pull in. It has that traditional Georgia look that just feels right, elegant without trying too hard.
Walking inside, it doesn’t disappoint. The men’s locker room has all the essentials: lockers, clean showers, fresh towels, and complimentary toiletries. There’s also an onsite gym. It’s on the smaller side, but it's well equipped with treadmills, bikes, weight machines, and free weights. The pro shop is large and has a nice selection of apparel to shop through.
One of the biggest highlights of the clubhouse though is the dining area. It’s spacious, has plenty of seating, multiple TVs, and a well designed bar. Just outside is the terrace overlooking holes 1 and 9 of the Lake course. It looks like the perfect spot to unwind after your round and have a couple drinks.
Practice Facilities
As far as practice areas go, Eagle’s Landing has everything you could need. The driving range is long enough to comfortably hit every club in the bag. The practice green is large with several undulating sections, giving you realistic practice for what you’ll see on the course. There is also a well manicured short game area complete with 2 bunkers and a few different flagsticks to hit to, located between the 1st and 2nd hole of the Lake 9.

The Course
The golf course is split into 3 distinct nines: Creek, Lake, and Hill.

We started on Lake and wow does this 1st hole throw you right into the fire. This is one of the most daunting opening tee shots I’ve seen in the area: water down the left side, trees down the right as well as a bunker guarding the right side of the fairway. The par 3s on this 9 are tough but not super memorable. Hole 2 is an uphill par 3 that plays about 170 from the gold tees with a bunker short left. Hole 7 is a relatively flat par 3 that plays about 190 with a small bunker right in front of the center of the green. There’s also a lateral hazard that guards the left front side of this green. One of the standout holes on this 9 is the par 4 3rd hole. The view from the tee box is confusing at first as all you can see are bunkers scattered throughout the fairway. You have to hit about a 200-250 yard shot to leave yourself a wedge or short iron into the uphill green. It's a really fun design. My other favorite is the signature par 5 9th hole which has the lake down the entire left side and sets the beautiful clubhouse as the backdrop behind the green.
For our second 9 we played the Hill course, which I must admit was not as memorable as the Lake course. However, the par 3s were a highlight. Hole 3 is a 160 yard downhill par 3 with a creek you have to carry as well as two bunkers guarding the front of the green. There was a strip of dead grass running through the middle of the green that did take away from the aesthetic a bit, but didn’t seem to affect our putts. There was also another problem area on the left side of this green, but other than this one all the greens were in great shape. The 140 yard par 3 7th hole had a pretty severe sloped left to right green which made for some fun shot shaping. My favorite hole on this 9 is the par 5 8th. The view from the tee box is excellent, you’re hitting downhill into a fairway that doglegs right. The entire hole plays downhill, giving you a legitimate birdie opportunity with a good drive. I thought the finishing hole was a bit weak. It's a beast of a par 4 at 440 yards, but not super memorable. From what I’ve heard though, Lake is usually played as the back nine which makes a lot more sense given the strength of its closing hole.
Conditions
The course conditions were solid overall, especially for being off season. The bentgrass greens were rolling fast and were well manicured for the most part. There were a few spots around the greens that could use some work, but overall I was impressed.
Membership & Value
Eagle’s Landing has some of the most competitive membership rates in the area, but they are by invitation only. (Reach out if you'd like to learn more - joe@atlgolfs.com)
They have a couple different packages depending on age and they are crazy cheap.
For those under 45, there’s the Premier Full Privilege Jr Exec membership which has a $1000 initiation fee. Monthly dues for this membership are $475/month.
The other membership option is the Premier Full Privilege membership, which also has a $1000 initiation fee and monthly dues of $575.
Both memberships include cart fees and driving range access, along with 25% off a la carte dining and no food & beverage minimum. According to management, it's a top 3 cheapest private course around. Incredible membership value.
Considering the 27 Fazio designed holes, course conditions and practice facilities, the $60-$90 guest fee is great value. That's cheaper than a lot of public courses around Atlanta!
If you have the opportunity, I would definitely recommend playing Eagle’s Landing.
