This review is sponsored by the 9 & Dine Fundraiser, Oct. 12 @ Sugar Creek GC. Great golf, great food, and a great cause! Find out how to participate -> here.
Hampton Golf Village is a really fun track that features elevation changes, two standout par 3s, and at times the front/back 9s barely feel like the same course! I especially appreciated the creeks and wetlands that weaved in and out of play throughout.
Pretty straightforward clubhouse with all of the necessities. Plenty of food options on the turn (the burger was 🔥), and they also feature some local beer such as Wild Leap.
It was a rainy day, so the range was on mats, but on a dry day they open up the grass. I thought the $6 for 30 warm up balls was fine. At the price point, I wasn't expecting them to be included. They also had a fairly large putting green that you could chip around as well.

The front 9 layout felt like what I typically expect for north of the city. Tree lined fairways with little forgiveness (unless the tree gods kick you out). The back 9 things really open up. You could convince me 15 was on a totally different course. Both 9s had some fun elevation changes though. 4 and 12 are brutal uphill par 4s. The downhill par 4s such as 7 and 10 are a blast. And the downhill par 3s, 2 and 14 were highlights of the round. The finishing hole is really fun - short par 5 with a healthy dose of risk reward.

The conditions were very good. It was raining off and on that day, but the course held up well. The bent grass greens had the expected pitch marks, but not as bad as others I've played. Tee boxes were well manicured, bunkers were nice - but it looked like they have let others grow over into grass bunkers (which is fine), aprons were healthy for the most part, and I actually appreciated the length of rough that framed the fairways. On hilly terrain, the rough often isn't thick enough to stop balls from jumping into the woods.
Based on the overall experience this course is almost perfectly priced. I felt like I got exactly what I paid for, but no more. So it's not a "steal" in that sense. There are also midweek HotDeals for $44, which would be a fantastic value if you can make it happen.
I'd definitely recommend it!
