Cross Creek is an 18-hole, par 3 course on the Upper Westside. I like to think of CC as your friendly neighborhood dive bar. Don’t expect a high-class old fashioned… you’re getting a Miller Lite and probably smelling like cigarettes, but it’s always the best nights.

Tee boxes are pretty bad - but good practice for hitting out of rough and packed sand. However, you do have the option to hit off mats. Greens are small and patchy, but you’re not going to CC to practice your putting anyways. Bunkers are surprisingly in pretty good shape.

Layout is straightforward with the majority of holes hanging out around the 100 yd mark - perfect to work on dialing in your wedges. Even so, due to the small greens you’ll miss plenty of greens and get to work on your chipping as well.

Pro shop is pretty well stocked and there’s a cafe that serves food and drinks, plus there’s a full bar. No carts, but there are push carts available. There’s even a 19th hole where you can practice a few pitch shots before starting your round.

Overall, Cross Creek is a good course to practice your approach game that literally costs the same as range balls at Bobby Jones. Hard to beat that no matter the course conditions. Great value.

Sometimes you just want to get in 18 holes, be done within 2 hours, and grab a drink at the bar with your crew. What’s not to love (except the geese…so many geese)
