I've played at Fox Creek more times than I can count and for good reason. Conditions are usually solid and I can use every single club in my bag at least once. It's a par 62 and the perfect course for beginners to get some confidence and experienced players to dial in their approach game.
Tee boxes were very good considering the amount of players that come through on a given day - always hitting off of grass. Fairways were great minus a couple holes that always struggle a bit (9 and 11). The greens were rolling pretty quick. There were a couple that weren't super healthy (especially 1), but the vast majority were in very good condition - especially considering the price point.
For a par 62, I really like the layout. Uphill and downhill par 3s that go from 100 yards to 185+. There aren't two holes back to back that you'll use the same club. I even like the par 4s. They are very short of course, but that gives me the choice of seeing if I can drive the green or layup with a long iron/wood to practice those pesky pitch shots ~50 yards out. You'll also find the shortest par 5 in Atlanta at 400 yards. A great hole to get your first birdie if you're a beginner or maybe even an eagle!
The pro shop is fine and the practice areas are awesome. One of the best ranges in the area (although the grass is only open on the weekends). Decent chipping area, and large putting green. I've often come here to just work on my putting.
Considering you're getting 18 holes for the price of many 9 hole courses + the very good conditions, I think it's a great value at ~$40. With that said, I don't like that they don't have 9 hole prices or discounts for walkers. It's a great course to walk. I would also say be aware that many beginners will be playing, so don't expect a speedy 2 hr round unless you're going mid-week. Pace of play will be a bit slower than the typical par 62.
I would definitely recommend Fox Creek.
