Legacy is a par 58 course that is perfect for beginners or those practicing their 150yds and in shots. With conditions above average and a great practice area, it's a perfect spot for golfers to work on their game.
They just opened a brand new clubhouse earlier this year and it features all of the expected items - shirts, accessories, etc. The outside patio is a perfect spot to chill post round and have a beer. Unfortunately, there isn't a kitchen, but they often have food vendors. Note - there isn't a turn so make sure you grab your drinks and snack ahead of time. They do have a cart person driving around on most days.
Big fan of the practice area. Grass range (only on weekends usually) and a few different short game areas to practice chipping from tight lies and thick rough. More beginners should show up and spend an hour chipping (it's free!). The putting green is so-so, but good enough.

The layout is just ok. I find myself using the same club on 6/9 holes on the front. That said, the back 9 is much better and they did a great job revitalizing 11. 3/4 par 4s are drivable, so while that's fun, it's still the same strategy off the tee. It can also lead to pace of play issues as folks wait for the green to clear - combined with the number of beginners, pace of play is often an issue.
Here's my suggestions for making the most of the layout:
Leave the driver at home and use the par 4s to practice your long irons
Move around the tee boxes to make sure you're hitting a different irons/wedges

The conditions are very good for the price point and the amount of traffic they get. Tee boxes usually had short grass to hit from and the Bermuda greens were healthy and rolled pretty good. Bunkers were in solid condition as well.
It's pretty tough to beat the value you're getting for the price point, unless you go to the sister course down the street, Fox Creek, whose layout provides more variety. I do wish they offered a walkers discount because it's a very walkable course. They also don't offer 9 hole rates. That said, $40 for weekend rate + cart is cheaper than some of the 9-hole courses in the city. And actually most of the weekend tee times aren't even $40. Sometimes you can find a weekday HotDeal for $23 - an incredible value for 18 holes.
I definitely recommend Legacy Golf Links!
