DGC is a bit of a hidden gem because you won’t find it on GolfNow. One of my favorite things about this course is the laid back atmosphere. Have a beer, play some golf, and enjoy the company. Course conditions are consistently above average and the layout keeps things interesting throughout the 18.

Quite a few of the boxes could use some help, but fairways are lush, bunkers in good condition, and the greens are very healthy. Greens are medium speed and roll consistently 1-18.

I wouldn’t call the layout easy, but most holes are very forgiving off the tee. The occasional slice/hook usually won’t ruin the hole. It tips out at 6500 yards, which means a lot of birdie opportunities - Four par-4s under 350 yards, and the par 5s are all around the 500 yard mark. Unfortunately, on 3/4 par 3s you’ll likely use the same club (for me a 6 or 7 iron) - and that’s probably my least favorite thing about DGC. The saving grace is that visually they ~feel~ different, but you’re essentially hitting the same shot.

Course management tips: Use a gps/scope to know when the fairways run out. The short par 4s and doglegs run out of fairway quickly if you don’t take the correct line. Holes 4, 7, 13 have skinny greens that you’ll want to have a full swing so know what distance you’d like to leave yourself before teeing off.

DGC has a very good restaurant and consistently has a cart person driving around. Mat range with a chipping area nearby + a fairly large putting green - although I find the putting to green to be about 2x faster than the course.

They have few different membership options that I'd recommend looking into if you live around the area. Their public rates have gone up recently, but I still think it’s worth the $60 wknd rate + cart. The weekday walking rate at $40 is a great value and the course is very walkable. My go-to is the $30 walking twilight 9. Great view of the sunset from the 9th tee - thank me later.
