Quirky, short, and challenging greens, pretty much sums up City Club. I've found that people tend to hate it or really enjoy it. Rarely is driver required, but there's a lot of rewards to be found if your driver is on that day. With that said, it's highly unlikely you score well your first round out there due to a number of sneaky misses that penalize you... But half the fun is coming back for round 2.

Conditions were fairly typical for the price point and time of year. Tee boxes were solid. Maybe a bit more beat up than other courses, but that's mainly due to the number of tee boxes that you can hit an iron off of.
Fairways were fine... There is a lot of elevation changes, so there are some bare spots due to runoff, but nothing major. Some spring growth will make a huge difference.
Now let's talk about the greens. The course might not be long, but the greens have razor sharp teeth. I don't care how good you are, you will 3-putt at least once. Very grainy, so can be surprisingly slow, or very fast. In the summers they are often double rolled and diabolical.
Par 5s are definitely gettable, par 3s are short - but with very penalizing misses, and a ton of short par 4s that make you think through your bag before stepping onto the tee.
It's my home course, so I'm partial, but I would highly recommend CCM. Lean into the quirk of the course and I think you'll have a blast. (But spend some time on the putting green!)
$60 for the round is right on the edge of what a round there is probably worth. Snag a hot deal and pay $45 like I did and I think you'll be extremely happy with your experience.
