Heritage Golf Links gives you a little bit of everything: Short par 3s and 200+yd par 3s, downhill par 5s and uphill, tree lined fairways and water. After a multi-million dollar renovation project for the the Heritage and Legacy 9s, and the Tradition 9 closing (as of December 1, 2025), the course is excited to pour their full energy into the Legacy/Heritage 18 to make it the go-to course on that side of the city.

The facilities/amenities were some of the best I've seen for a public course (range mats notwithstanding). Solid clubhouse with great merch (love the new tractor logo), and a full bar and grill with grab n' go options on the turn. They also had a snack shack/drink house on each of the 9s, which is something I've yet to see at a public course in the area.
Practice facility has everything you could ask for... practice bunker, chipping area, huge putting green, and a large range. Now the range mats are infamous (management knows and has plans to upgrade), but they do open the grass portion of the range Friday-Sunday. $12 for 40 balls, $14 for 16, and $18 for 90. Not the best prices I've seen, but not bad. Also, you get a small bucket for free if you pay for a primetime tee time on the weekends ($90).
One of the coolest things is that when you arrive to a new tee box, the cart screen shows real drone footage over the hole. I haven't seen that at even private courses in the area. Shoutout to my guy Gozy who did the videography work.
The biggest layout change from the recent renovation project was the removal of a TON of bunkers. Management wanted to make the course much more playable/enjoyable for the average golfer. By all accounts, mission accomplished. I mentioned this at the beginning, but I really appreciated the variety of holes. If I had to critique, it'd be that I used the same wedge on both short par 3s, but they still felt like very different holes. I would say the Heritage 9 is my favorite, but Legacy has the better par 3s. From Hole 3 to 7 on Heritage is just banger after banger.
Course condition were above average, but will only be getting better. I think often times folks think that after a renovation a course should be in pristine shape, but it takes time for new grass to settle in. Tee boxes were cut short with plenty of grass, however, a few of them weren't super even. Bunkers were pretty typical and had everything you need - plenty of sand. Fairways were great. The greens were good, but not great yet. The new greens are soft which makes for a bad combination with folks not fixing their pitch marks. Luckily, the new greens will only be getting stronger and firmer as we approach next spring. There were also some nice aesthetic touches like stone work on steps and tee boxes, but the course plans on doing even more (tee box markers, flowers, more stone work, etc)
Pace of play has historically been a hot topic for Heritage, but the course has made some significant changes to make that a thing of the past.
Moved from 8 minute to 10 minute tee times
Made the course easier/more playable
The clubhouse has a screen that tells them exactly which cart is behind pace and where they are, so marshals can step in.
The course isn't quite worth the full $90 primetime price, however, I really appreciate the fact they throw in a small range bucket ($12) at that price. Considering the amenities, practice facility, course layout, and course conditions, I would say the experience is maxed out at $80. Anything under that and you're getting a good value for your money. The $45 after 1pm on the weekdays is one of the best bang for your bucks in town. That said... give the new greens another 4-6 months, along with some aesthetic upgrades, and a few extra hospitality touches, and I could see Heritage being a $100 experience.
I would recommend playing Heritage Golf Links.
