This review is sponsored by The Grint Tour - Atlanta - A local tour for amateurs to get a taste of competitive golf. The tourney's are flighted based on handicap, so even if you're barely breaking 100 I would still recommend it. DM me if you'd like more information!
(FYI: I played Chestatee as part of The Grint Tour competition. However, I have reached out to people that play here regularly for some insight into a normal tee-time experience)
Last year Chestatee GC shut down for ~6 months to replace their greens and few other upgrades. Nearly unheard of for a public course to do, but it paid off. Course conditions were fantastic, layout is super fun, and the amenities are top notch.

The layout provides pretty much everything you're looking for in North GA golf. Ton of elevation changes featuring stunning downhill par 3s and nice mix of water hazards that provided some variety. It's not perfect though. Hole 8 is an oddly long par 4, followed up by hole 9 which is a strangely short par 5. Feels backwards. There's also a water hazard on hole 9 that is basically in the fairway. It felt like there were a lot of par 4s with uphill tee shots - always tough for us amateurs.

The conditions were mint. The rough, to fringe, to greens were perfectly manicured. Tee boxes were flat and plush with trimmed grass. Bunkers were excellent. And those new greens were rolling so nice. Exactly what'd you expect for the price.
Now, if you've read my reviews you'll know that when a course is charging $100+ the small things matter. Complimentary range balls ☑️, Tees in the cart ☑️, Bluetooth connection in car ☑️, ball + club washer on the cart ☑️, Grass range ☑️ (but currently on mats as it's being re-sodded), chipping green ☑️, practice bunker ☑️, large putting area ☑️, nice clubhouse ☑️, food/drink ☑️. If I had to be nit-picky, the only thing I'd want to see is a towel in the cart for the hot summer days.
Chestatee is worth the $119 price tag, but not much more. Twilight pricing kicks in at 4pm on weekdays for $65 - AMAZING value. $95 for full rate on the weekday is still a solid value as well.
If you're looking to get outside of the city and splurge a little extra on a tee-time, I would recommend Chestatee.
